INTRODUCTION

Information Technology has revolutionized the life of human beings’ and has

made the lives easier by the various kinds of applications. In the light of the rapid changes with the use of IT, there are many tools, technologies and systems have been produced and invented. In the modern world, time is short so if there are many processes taken place at same time within a place there is a need for integration of all the processes, creation of paper less environment also ensures efficient task management.

The Library Management System is made computerized to reduce human made errors and to increase the efficiency. The maintenance of the records is made easy and all the records are stored in the database which can be retrieved easily afterwords.

This chapter will discuss the objective of the study, statement of the problem, significance of the study, scope & delimitation and the definition of terms.

Objective of the Study

This study aims to know the following:

* To record the book’s detail.

* To record the member’s details.

* It saves time for the management of library.

* The new system will take less time in entering the data, processing it

and getting its output. Fewer resources will be used as no large

registers, files, Ledgers, pens; correctors will be needed or used.

* It will be much easier to find particular record rather than opening such huge files and finding a single record from them.

* The data will be much secure from any unauthorized access. It will be made secure by using passwords and by taking other security measures.

* To edit the records and update the database easily.
