Analizing for Web Page Internet Jurisdiction

Abstract

This research report examines the standards of Internet Jurisdiction. First it identifies the difference between interactive and passive distinction. I gathered information from th following resources: Wolf, C; techdirt; and the Federal Trade Commission. I have also included my views of the website. Finally, the report includes information on how the cosumer feels after asscessing the website.

Analizing of the Website Internet Jurisdiction

After reading and answering the questions of Mr. Wolf’s article, it took me a while to choose a website to critique. I then decided on Dell Computer home office.com I specifically choose Dell because it is a manufacturing company.

Dell Manufactures large servers for very large busineses and also manufactures laptops, and personal computers.

It was quite apparent that tis site is definitely a interactive site. There were many links to there different types of products that can help potential customers. Please understand how important servers and computer (s) are to run your business and bring in revenue. This site also include links to the company technical support information, shop, e-mail, and many other links. If you look at the numbers of customer (s) that this site receives it is well over 20,000 plus.

This tells me that the site has been accessed by several but most likely those that are out side of the state of Texas which led me to believe that the minimum contact could be established as personal jurisdiction. This company does business worldwide, and could therefore fall under jurisdiction of foreign courts as well with the facts of the law from forums to forums websites should be concered with personal jurisdiction. I think that it is a concern because the consumers that brings a case to their forum could easly be in the website owner’s forum and will subject the website owners to the...
