Organizational Model

Structures are completed to allocate or assign tasks and provide for the coordination of performance results within an organization. The organizational model that best describes my organization is the Formal structure. Formal structure is primarily concerned with the relationship between individuals in authority and subordinates (Schatz, 2012). In my current job, I work for a third-party outsourcing company. In my department, we take complaints against health care facilities and HMOs within the State of Florida. The formal structure fits well because we have a project manager, who oversees the entire department. We also have supervisors and a trainer (Lombardi & Schermerhorn, 2007). Last, we have my coworkers and me who take calls. When representatives are busy, the supervisor’s will take calls to keep the call volume and abandonment rate down. With formal structure, many communication methods are used to communicate; they are discussed next.

In my organization, the job description has the representative speaking with consumers constantly on the phone. The communication methods used to share knowledge or involve employees in formulating solutions to problems in my organization are face-to-face communication, e-mail, and phone communication (Hospitalist Leadership Connection, 2010). These methods make it easy for managers to ask questions and provide information without taking away from the representative providing services to the caller. The above information has given insight to what occurs in my organization. In the paper, we also expound on the techniques that have been most
