Job Evaluation at Whole Foods Market

1. Introduction

The goal of any company is to attract and retain employees who share their core values. Whole Foods Core Values include selling the highest quality natural and organic products, satisfying and delighting customers, supporting their Team Members (Whole Food Employees) happiness and growth, creating wealth through profits and growth, caring about the communities and their environment, creating win-win partnerships with their suppliers and promoting the health of their stakeholders through healthy eating education. The above herein core values were selected and applied by me to the job analysis on the basis of which the job description of the job structures were prepared for the Whole Food s Market.

2. Evaluation of Jobs and Job Structure

Having reviewed the job descriptions provided in the case study of Whole Food Market, job titles as indicated below were assigned as follows:

Job A - Prepared Foods Team Member

Job B - Customer Services Team Member

Job C - Prepared Food Department Team Leader

Job D - Prepared Foods Supervisor

Job E - Dishwasher

Job F - Customer Services Front End Supervisor

Job G - Prepared Food Associate Team Leader

Job H - Associate store Leader

Job I – Grocery Retail Team Member

Having derived the above here mentioned job titles, I then broke down the job titles into two main job structural categories, namely, the Managerial Structure and Store Support Structure. For the purpose of this assignment, I’ve made the managerial Structure to contain Job C, Job D, Job F, Job G and Job H, whereas the Store Support Structure is made to contain Job A, Job B, Job E, and Job I.

3.0 Process, Techniques and Factors
