While Dirt Bikes has a definite concern with how much is being spent on communicating with people both inside and outside of its organization, they are also concerned with how well the organization is obtaining the information about the new developments in the industry they are in and that sales and manufacturing and the production departments. The two internet tools that I think should be introduced to the organization that will be beneficial and the costs associated with them will be addressed. Finally, the benefits of wireless technology will be discussed and how Dirt Bikes can benefit from it and all of it that will be incurred along with any savings.

Intranet would be a benefit for sales and marketing, human resources, and manufacturing and production by allowing Dirt Bikes to use their existing networks, computer systems, and technologies to build an intranet without incurring significant additional investments in both computer hardware and software. Intranets, unlike the internet, are owned entirely by the organization and information on them generally cannot be accessed by the general public or by internet community without explicit access to it. Intranets are protected from unauthorized users through “firewalls,” software programs that check and verify the credentials of users attempting to obtain access. Dirt Bikes could benefit from the intranet to include: better internal communications- corporate information can be shared centrally and accessed at any time; sharing of resources and best practices- a virtual community can be created that would provide any easy portal in which to share and collaborate ideas and information. Then the organization will have a reduction of paper forms can be accessed and completed online and forwarded to the appropriate department without having to be printed out but still providing the information needed if there is an audit sometime in the future.
