Throughout the list of poetry, “Those Winter Sundays” by Robert Hayden and the “Out, Out …” by Robert Frost are the two poems that have the most meaningful and interest to me. For the first poem, “Those Winter Sundays,” it shows the love that is unspeakable between son, in this case it’s the author, and father. At the beginning of the poem, the author describes his father as a labor. The father loves his son a lot where he tries to do everything to find some money and takes care of his son. He wakes up early before sunrise to prepare cleaning the shoes for other people. For the son or the author, the love for the father shows at the last two sentences:

“What did I know, what did I know

of love’s austere and lonely offices “(13-14).

He is crying non-stop, and he wants to keep his hand badly. When the doctors came to look at his hand, the doctor said, “The hand is gone already.” Therefore, everyone look at Will Graham and people couldn’t believe his hand was gone so quickly. In addition, all the people listened to his heart. If the readers critically think what the meaning of the poem, there will be the second thought where people could see the buzz-saw as the weapon. What happened to Will can be seen as the soldiers who have the same...
