Record Keeping

Record keeping is about a systematic procedure of recording the data of organization transactions, or in other words, record keeping is a task of recording every single economic transaction of a company in a systematic, well-established manner. In this case, there are inadequate of record and in a certain transaction, there is no record at all. Due to this, there is several risk detected and had been identified. The first is risk of fraud due to no proper records of money received at the counter. As stated in the case, customer will pay to whoever is working the payment desk at the time. Without proper clear work task and no fixed person in charge, there is high probability for the staff to incur fraud. Maybe some of them will be tempted with the money they received from the customer and they will intend to keep it on their own. As there is no proper record then there is nothing to be worried as the management can’t detect who stole the money and where has the money gone to. This surely because of they did not have record as a proof. If there is record, at least the management can going through the record and recheck who is in charge of the payment desk at the time being.

The second is the risk of loss in profit due to no proper record of number of free meals being given to the staff. As a way to please the staff, the management decided to give daily free meals for the staff plus they can bring another one friend to have the free meals.
