Computer Information System Brief for Kulder Fine Foods Inc.

Kudler Fine Foods is a food service company in California with three different locations. The founder and owner Kathy’s vision is to create one store for delicious foods and the making tools. Kulder has opened the first store in 1998 in La Jolla, second store in 2003 in Del Mar and the third one is coming up in Encinitas with the products including European style bakery; meat and seafood, over 350 varies of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices; milk and Irish butter and over 250 kinds of cheeses; and over 21 countries wines (Apollo Group, Inc., 2010).

Kulder Fine Foods is looking forward to develop its accounting and computing new work system with a higher quality computing system in order to support its fast growing business in the supplier, produce and customer service.

Kulder Current Computing System and Technology

The current computing system in Kudler is Mocrosoft Access Database System and Microsoft operation system. The strength of this computing system is simple and flexible to use. It has familiar windows and can be integrated to other Microsoft office software. The weakness is database is too small (only two gigabytes) and the website function is too simple, which is not good enough for business innovation and world wide expending.

Opportunities of Providing New Technologies for Kudler

According to O'Brien J., & Marakas G., 2008, Technology is no longer an afterthought in forming business strategy, but the actual cause and drive (p. 44). In order to develop Kudler’s computing system as well as business model to fit into the fast growth business requirement, Kudler need update its computing system including the online order system.
