What do you think of when you hear the term academic honesty? How does knowing the difference among original ideas, common knowledge, and plagiarism help you stay honest when you write an academic paper? What are some of the consequences of not being academically honest?
The term academic honesty is your thoughts and words or your integrity in your academic endeavors. Knowing the difference in my own ideas and plagiarism will help me to write better papers and to maintain integrity while writing papers and ensure that I do not receive a failing grade or class. In addition this will help me to cite references better. There are a number of consequences such as failing grade on the assignment, failing the class, or even suspension from UOP, but one consequence that would hurt me the most is the disappointment I will put on my family.
