Executive Summary

As local library of have worked to incorporate electronic resources into their collections, services, and operations, most of them have found that their existing integrated library systems are not capable of supporting these new resources. As we study the project we determined that is using library systems only for the arrangement of books but unfortunately the said library don’t have a integrated library system that focus on the transaction of barrowing and returning of books. For project purposes our team organized to develop and support the rapid development of such systems by producing a series of interrelated documents to define needs and to help establish data standards.

As we conduct interview in different libraries that using a library system indeed the effectiveness of Computerized Library System has been conclusively demonstrated. To date, it has been shown to be more effective, efficient and more economical. Considering the results of using computerized library system, every user can be gratified with the functionality of the system. Generally, computerized library system is a mean to approach the need of society in terms of giving and promoting education.

Purpose—the following report is intended to provide a Library Management System to the Librarian and staff of City Library . The purpose of the Library System is to promote and provide automation, monitoring and controlling the transactions in a library, quality free public library services in the best interest consistent with budget and fiscal constraints. And to help them to facilitate informal self-education of all people in the community.
