Assignment #3: Final Course Paper

Antoinette is thirty three year old single mother and has two children. The children are both females and are sixteen and eighteen years of age. The child I will be referring to throughout my paper is the eighteen year old daughter, Laquarius. She stated that she really did not prepare herself for becoming a parent. She did state that she moved in with a cousin, where it was more room for her and her children. Also she made sure she was working so that she could have some financial support along with state aid.

Due to Antoinette’s mother dying while she was younger forced her to be raised by her grandmother. Her grandmother is her supportive person for her parenting roles. The biggest difference between how she was parented and how she does her job now is that she is more lenient with her children than what her grandmother was with her. When the father was released from jail he did not show any support in helping Antoinette to raise her kids. She stated by being a single mother she did not have enough time with her kids due to her having to work to support her family. Issues aroused and she did not have any father figure for her kids to talk to, so that she could get the advice and support she needed. Through all of this she had never received financial or moral support from the father.

Antoinette’s favorite part of parenting is being...
