Information technology advances play an important role in social progress and economic growth, and also lead to many innovations and new enterprises. Computers and computer networks have drastically increased the amount and speed of information processing. Development of the internet has changed the nature of communication in businesses, and also established a platform for electronic commerce altering merchandising, advertising and product distributing practices. (Kasavana & Cahill, 2007)

Advances in information technology have changed the way of doing business in many industries including lodging. Hospitality technology applications employed in hotels are credited with providing a basis for competitive advantage, productivity improvement, enhanced financial performance, and guest service expansion.
