Ethics and social responsibility are essentially in both the workplace and in an individual’s personal life. Ethics are “the moral principles that reflect society’s beliefs about actions of an individual or a group that are right or wrong” (Pearce & Robinson, 2011, p. 74). Ethical standards are not standard for every organization or individual therefore organizations are responsible for monitoring these standards. Besides, organizations remaining ethical in its operations, it is noted that organizations should also be operated in a socially responsible way. “Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the idea that a business has a duty to serve society in general as well as the financial interest of its stockholders” (Pearce & Robinson, 2011, p. 52). Developing a strategic plan requires an organization to consider the effect social responsibility will have and how ethics will play a role within the organization. This paper will discuss the role of ethics and social responsibility in developing a strategic plan for Kamino International Logistics, considering the stakeholders needs. In addition, the paper will also discuss how Marla’s ethical perspective has evolved throughout her Master of Business Administration program with the University of Phoenix.

Role of Ethics and Social Responsibility in Strategic Planning
