By using fishbone diagram analysis; six reasons have been founded that cause a call drop issue which are poor coverage, congestion in network traffic, hardware failure, some customer’s handset, network parameters definition mistake and transmission problem. After previous analysis; list of solutions have been generated to cover and minimize each reason. In the first reason which is bad coverage of mobile network in some area; a new mobile sites are required to cover this area in parallel with conducting a frequent drive test to check if the coverage are improved in this area or not. Moving to the second reason which is congestion in mobile network in high traffic area; additional transceivers (Trx) to existing mobile sites are required and that might happen by conducting a Trxs balancing between mobile sites. Customer’s handset might be a reason for call drop issue when this handset was bought it from unauthorized market; yet the customer should be notified to change the handset in order to use the mobile network without facing the call drop issue. One of the major reasons of call drop is a hardware failure in the network elements and that can be minimized by conduction a frequent maintenance and link all mobile elements to a reliable alarming system. In addition to that the failure of transmission microwave link is one of the reasons of call drop issue; to minimize this issue the fiber connection can be a replacement for some major microwave links. The last reason is network parameter definition mistake which can be resolved by doing a constant check to the network parameter.
