God commands this type of love.

When you wake in the morning, wash her for the day. Sense her mood. Cover her with the cleansing flow of your affection. Wash away the dirt of the night with your appreciation. Make sure to get behind her ears where she hears what your mouth and body say. Cleanse her with soothing words she needs for this day. Give, don't take away.

Not done yet. Towel her down by making your hearing heart receive the wetness of her joy, pain and physical need—all this before the world sees the woman you love as your own body. Be the whitening and brightening she needs after all the things she's had to eat to make sure her and her family's needs are met. Listen up, brother, you're not done yet.

She has to be fed where her soul is weak. She needs the Word and your faith and love for her to eat—for this day. Yesterday's meat is gone out the drain and into the drink. Fill her stomach with the promise of being loved throughout the day and into the night, that you're going to share her load and make it right. And when she's full for the day, clothe her with some more appreciation. Give her love like you're commanded to do. More than your body, you are one not two.

22-24 Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing. So just as the church submits to Christ as he exercises such leadership, wives should likewise submit to their husbands.

25-28 Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty.
