Albert Einstein Outline

I. Introduction

a. Albert Einstein was a genius in physics and math. He helped us to understand energy, matter, light and gravity.

b. He appeared delirious and insane, but he was really a brilliant and imaginative man!

II. Parents & Birth

c. Born on March 14, 1879 in a small town in Germany

d. Parents Herman and Pauline Einstein

e. Family moved to big city of Munich when he was 1

f. 1881 his sister Maja was born

III. Childhood

g. When he was 5 his father showed him a compass and he was fascinated that something unseen could move the needle

h. Went to a Catholic elementary school to avoid the Nazi’s

i. Albert introduced to a friend who shared math and science books to Albert – he was 10.

IV. Schooling

j. Family moved to Italy but his family sent him to a school in Switzerland to finish High School

k. Goes to Zurich to attend Federal Polytechnic

V. Family

l. Meets and falls in love with Milevia Maric at the University he was 19.

m. Graduates the following year with a degree in physics

n. 1902 Milevia delivers their first child, daughter Lieserl, but didn’t marry until 1903!! Scandal!

o. 1904 son Hans born

p. 1908 son Edward is born

q. Separated from Milevia and then divorces in order to marry his cousin Elsa who nursed him back from a serious illness.

r. 1936 Elsa Einstein dies

VI. Inventions & Discoveries

s. Started with the studies of capillary forces

t. 1905 Theory of Relativity is born and applies his theory to mass and energy developing the formula E=MC2!! The he moves on to apply laws of gravity to the theory.

u. Doesn’t complete the theory until 1915 and then the theory is published in 1916.

v. Becomes a professor at Zurich University and a few years later he explains why the sky is blue with his theory of Opalescence.
