Self-Assessment

Self-critique is an excellent way to enhance our presentation and performing skills as it provides a medium for us to reflect on our presentations and realize our faults. Hence, I will be expressing criticisms on my informative presentation based of individual and peer feedback.

I presented on my homeland Nepal and successfully completed my first presentation at the university. I started with a clear agenda as to what I have included in the following slides and this provided a good backbone to my presentation. However, I feel that my pace of speech was a bit fast. I included a strong introduction based on Nepal’s location and some interesting features. Since Nepal is not a very well-known country, I feel this generated greater interest from the audience as they wanted to learn more as I progressed. This I realized from the eye contacts that I made along the way. Eye contacts enabled me to learn the interest in the face of the audiences which accelerated my confidence further. Nepal was definitely unknown to most people in the audience; hence this completes my main target of informing them about the unknown. Well, the use of videos would have aided in displaying the beauty of Nepal in a more realistic manner, but I did not included videos due to the time span. I emphasized on the major attractions of Nepal and summarized it perfectly at the end. This presentation has enabled me to provide answers to numerous general knowledge questions to the audience.
