Nowadays, it is sometimes argued that to benefit from a desirable education it is enough to have experienced and knowledgeable teachers. On the other hand, some may believe that it is indisputable that students should be fond of their teachers and have passion for them to be interested in their lessons. I definitely agree with this idea that it is not crucial for a student to like his teacher to learn best.

In the first place, students more than anyone else, take advantage of the knowledge, skills, and experience of their teachers. As far as I am concerned, if a teacher is really nice and lovely, but he is not skillful enough the students might like him a lot and pay attention to every word that he says, but they would not profit from a proper education. Needless to say, the most crucial feature which an excellent teacher should have is his knowledge not his attractive personality. On the one hand, a nice teacher might be great incentive for students to attend his class and devote a vast amount of their time to doing their homework, but on the other hand this is not sufficient to learn in an effective way.

In addition to the first argument, all the student may be fond of their teacher since he is kind and patient, for example, but it seems to me that if he is not serious enough to force student do their best, or to manage the class, the students might exploit of the distracting environment and not take responsibility to do their assignments or participate in classes regularly.

Last but not least, perhaps students are interested in several fascinating facets of a teacher's character, in my opinion, these favorable attributes might be a barrier to provide a strict framework in the class or pass substantial rules and regulations in order to meet progress. To put it another way, managing a class and teaching need their own structures, there is a need for encouraging and motivation, and another one for punishment.
