The Europeans have dominated the Globe for thousands of years because of three key factors, Guns, Germs, and Steel. Against the less educated, and technologically advanced peoples of Africa, and the Americas these things came with great force, whether by night or day, rain or shine. The Europeans had been around diseases such as smallpox, typhus, measles, and influenza for thousands of years now, so their immune systems were able to fight against it. However disease quickly swept through the vast lands of Mexico and the Americas killing millions.

The main question that must be answered is, why are some people of the world more fortunate than others? To be able to build huge pyramids, and build cities and buildings, where others could not, and still can not. And why are some people able to make steel weapons, where others are still making simple wooden tools? This question is one that is asked by many every day, and some will never ever get to hear an answer, nor will we ever know if the answer we get is true or not.

This book talks about many different things that happened over the course of the past thousands of years, but the one thing that I remember most is the way the people of New Guinea must do things so differently than everyone else in the world. They spend days cutting down single trees to retrieve the material on the inside to make dough, yet other places of the world spend days cutting down acre upon acre of trees. Also how people of Zambia suffer from Malaria every day of their lives, where people of European decent are so fortunate to never have to worry about malaria or really any kind of disease for that matter. Why are things so different just because of our location on the globe? This question is something I am very curious about.
