As technology advances, so does the way in which we communicate, voice our opinions and has also provides us with a new platform for entrepreneurial success. The introduction of the video blog, otherwise known as the vblog, has allowed users to voice their life story, thoughts, opinions and interests from any location and also enables them to communicate with their audience in a personal level that was not previously possible. With today’s youth predominantly using the Internet to watch programs on websites such as YouTube, various bloggers have been able to create innovative empires from the comfort of their own home. With the rise of social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, there is now a greater desire to document every moment of our lives. Through the introduction of YouTube in 2005, a global community for a mass movement of video replies was created.

Jenna Mourey, known as Jenna Marbles to her 10.8 million YouTube subscribers, gained substantial entrepreneurial success for her weekly vlogs which she posts on YouTube and described by NY Times’ Amy O’Leary as a “cocktail of comedy, sex appeal, puppies and social commentary, laced with profanity”. Since uploading her first video in 2010 about doing your makeup while drunk, which gained millions of views, Jenna Marbles now embodies the future of the celebrity and the idea of success. Her grand support for her vlogs created in her spare time has also changed the way in which we view success, which also overlaps with growth in success of technology. This has created its own entertainment genre with its own views and visual vocabulary. However as previously mentioned, this is extremely perceiver determined.
