Course Objectives

Nowadays firms, no matter large multinational corporations or small entrepreneurial start-ups, are maneuvering for a position in a competitive landscape that is increasingly global in nature. As such, managers are expected to have strong global strategic knowledge and skills as they have begun to realize the opportunities and challenges of globalization. This course focuses on the strategic challenges confronting firms that are competing in the global economy. The course will provide you with a training experience from analyzing the global business environment, formulating global expansion strategies, to examining strategic issues in a dynamic global setting. As this is an elective course at an advanced level, a basic understanding of international business and strategic management is required. Also, it is highly encouraged that you are equipped yourself with strategic management knowledge in parallel. This course will build on those knowledge/skills and introduce additional strategic tools and analytical framework that will enhance your abilities for analyzing complex, global business situations in order to formulate optimal strategic decisions.
