Massage Therapist- Though the average massage therapist salary is $48,000, how much a massage therapist earns is dependent on a lot of factors and these include location, area of employment, experience and others. Massage therapy is practiced by applying pressure, heat and friction to specific soft tissues and muscles in the body. This form of therapy can be used for medical and relaxation purposes or benefits. A massage therapist could specialize in neuromuscular massage, acupressure, reflexology, deep-tissue massage, Swedish massage and sports massage. You need to be aware on how to perform this kind of therapy based on the patient’s condition and muscles since there are instances where a simple massage could make things worse. It therefore requires expertise. To become a massage therapist you need to have 165 hours of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and 40 hours minimum of pathology. You need 75 hours minimum of general instruction to include 30 hours minimum of professional ethics, four hours of first aid, and four hours of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Physical Therapist- The average salary of a physical therapist is $84,000 a year. The salary depends on position, years of experience, degree of education, geographic location, and practice setting. Physical therapists can help patients reduce pain and improve or restore mobility - in many cases without expensive surgery and often reducing the need for long-term use of prescription medications and their side effects. They can teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits.
