Medical Assistant

Intro to Health Science

Unit 4 Project

As I began to understand what life was really about. I started planning my future

out on what I wanted to become. After graduating high school I've alway dreamed of

going to college, but it felt like my dreams were shattered because I ended up pregnant;

not that I regret it or anything. After having my child I thought my life was over until one

day I was alone I told myself your life is not over yet, your life is just beginning. I had set

several goals that I wanted to achieve and I did that by looking into college. This all

began after I had my last child. I knew it was really time to put the show on the road,

because I wanted to set an example for them while I was achieving my goals. I began

going to college in 2008 for Pharmacy Tech, I got about half way thru it and said this is

not what I want to do altho it was associated with what I wanted. I've always wanted to

help people. I sat back and thought about this for a little while than decided.

My major that I chose at Kaplan University is Medical Assistant. I chose the

Medical Assistant field because I have always wanted to help people and do something in

the medical field since I was a young girl. Majoring in Medical Assistant is a head start

for my future in the medical field. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Medical

Assistant jobs are expected to grow 31% much faster than average through the year 2020

(Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2012).There is always a need of medical workers no matter

where you are in the United States. In 2010, more than half medical assistants worked in

physicians’ offices (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2012). Medical assistant workers usually
