* What different persuasive approaches would you use with the following audiences: a manager, a peer, a challenging person, and an open-minded person? Why would your approach differ with each?

* In any form or approach in persuasion, I would rather use the pure truth of the matter at hand. Fact is stronger than most made up notions and will win out as long as a person is listening and thinking rationally to your argument.

*

* With a manager, you would want to use a reassuring, no confrontational approach to the argument. Any manager has the power to make your time at work better or worse. I would not try anything that I think would cause me to lose my job, but if I felt that my point was valid, I would most definitely argue it for the better of the work environment.

* With a peer, I would feel more comfortable in my argument, knowing that their opinion of me would not matter much in my advancement in the company, while if I am successful in persuading them to my point of view, I would be gaining another number to my cause or belief.

* With a challenging person, I would bombard them with the cold hard truth, it is hard to keep your emotions up and keep an argument going, or I could try a more laid back approach to try and throw them off of their game, winning with confusion.

* I love open minded people, they listen to everything that you say and give back input to your argument. An open minded person is the easiest kind of person to deal with. I would just give them the facts and let them run with it. Truth is the most effective form of persuasion and can easily win over an open minded person in most cases as long as you have a valid point to make with them.
