In the world we live in today, technology keeps increasing at a faster pace than most people are able to keep up with. This is great in most cases because it helps keep people connected easier and makes them more social too. With all great leaps and bounds that have happened with connecting people around the globe, it would seem that everything pertaining to this technology would be safe and secure. However, this is not the case. With the rise of malware, spyware, viruses, and identity theft increasing at an alarming rate, how we use these sites and how people can get into our information from what we put online is sadly a part of everyday life now. The way that it happens and how it can be prevented to its fullest will be explained in next parts of this paper.

With the rate of technology changing so fast in today’s world there is countless amount of information being transmitted from person to person via computer’s and the internet. When this happens there are bound to be things that can end up online that people may think is harmless such as their daily habits, their pets names, pictures of their favorite vacation locations, their kids and more. To most people this seems like a normal day of updates on either the sites Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram but to those groups of people that like to take advantage of unsuspecting people this is more than enough information to get them started on something as simple as hacking into a Facebook account or even as complex as stealing someone’s identity. This information may come off as shocking to some people but when everyone stops and thinks about all the information that is available online and special tools to help people retrieve passwords, it can be a scary issue to think about.
