Hellenic Greeks

After the defeat of the Persian War, the Greeks began to think of themselves a little differently. They began to call themselves the Hellenic Greeks. Everything they did or worked on had to be Arete, in other words, of excellence. This was the lifestyle they believed to live. From not eating too much or too little to not working to hard the Hellenic Greek they also found it very important to be Kalakagothia, well balanced. Above all, being mentally, physically, and spiritually balanced, Sophorsis, was they way of living for the Hellenic Greek. These were the three ideal ways it was believed to live by since they Greeks now saw themselves as superior people they had to place themselves above everyone. However, soon after many years of disagreements the Greek city-states decided to unite together. They strategized and prepared a league called The Daleoni. In this league they collected money to build weapons, ships, and any warcraft. After many debates between Sparta and Athens, Athens was voted to be the leader of the league. Yet, some conflict arouse out of this and left Sparta feeling bitter. In spite, Sparta decides to go behind Athens back to persuade Persia to help them destroy Athens and in return have a piece of Greece. Athens also was going behind Sparta and asking the Persians for help to destroy Sparta. This went on for about 50 years and Persia opted to stay out of the conflict. The leader of Athens, Percales, knew of the situation decides to take order. Through his time as leader, Athens grew to be a stronger nation and was now above Sparta. Soon enough, Athens and Sparta went into war against one another. The Peloponnesian War went on for years. While all this was happening, King Phillip of Macedonia watched quietly from above.
