Homework Assignment

Conair Corporation

The Company I chose for my Homework Assignment for this Unit is Conair Corporation. The Company operates through several different divisions, including Personal Care, Cuisinart, Jherri Rhedding, Waring, Interplak and Travel Accessories. In mentioning the different divisions alone it shows why this company has become a household name. They have grown by leaps and bounds through the years. With the help of diversity and the internet they have found a growth for niche products, availability of resources and not been held by reduction of geographical limitations.

Conair has grown from the year 2005 with reported revenue of 1.5 Million to 1.9 million in 2007. They have an international presence within Mexico, France, Asia and Europe. Much of this is of course due to the internet. This Corporation has definitely used the Internet to its advantage. With acquisitions and diversity they now distribute their products amongst hundreds of companies in all mentioned above divisions to such companies like Wal-Mart, Target, Macy’s, JC Penney to name a few.

With its vision and purpose Conair has been able to lift the restraints of Geographical Limitations via the Internet. With programs such as Sap they conduct business on a daily basis with the ability to maintain files, spending, ordering process, customer files with sku’s etc.

With a home base in Stamford CT. and plants in East Windsor, NJ, Glendale AZ just to name a few they are able to overcome the compression of time.

Their own diversity in many directions has made them a constant competitor in regards of Niche Products. We are talking about a company that started in 1959, and struggled for years. In 1976 its major product was blow dryers and curling irons.
