The way most Americans eat now a days, is very disappointing. More than three fourths of the United States population is overwhelmed by increase of many health problems. This results an increase of obesity, of many American citizens now a days. After reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan experience in eating at McDonalds restaurant, was just a disappointment on how much food he had ate. I can even imagine how many calories were consumed by him and his family after eating at the restaurant. Americas fast way of life, makes many of us not having the time to be able to cook a healthy meal before heading to work. Time flies by so quick, that many people just don’t have time to make themselves a meal before heading to their job. That’s one of the reasons that many of us today, still buy fast foods. Not having the time and money to buy food and just rather buy from fast food restaurants because of how cheaper it is. Americans should just try to cut down on how much fast food they eat because it’s just too much of fat consumed in a day and just unhealthy for our body.
It’s so terrifying to know how much fat we devour by eating fast foods and not just fat is taking in but other sorts of bad ingredients that our body shouldn’t be taking. In a research from Arthur Schoenstadt he says, “Fast food is not the cause of obesity in today's society. However, because fast food is typically high in calories and the portions are large, it does promote eating too many calories, which can lead to weight gain and obesity. “People who are obese, is not because they just each too much fast foods but the amounts they eat. Of course, when eating fast foods it comes with double of calories you should eat and more than double the fat of what we should eat a day, which then obesity starts to occur.
