Introduction
This writer has chosen a communication during a time of change for the topic of the applied research paper. In this writers opinion communication is the key to success in an organization, especially during a time of change. The journal article “Communication: essential Strategies for Success” (O’Connor, 2013) is one that this writer has chosen to help illustrate this important factor.
THEMES
The main theme of the article refers to the strategy of communication during a period of change in the organization (O’Connor). In the article the author illustrates the supported principles of creating an effective communication strategy for an organization. The author explains the importance of a strategy and why it is so important to communicate that to the stakeholders involved (Connor, 2013).
The author starts out by discussing change within an organization and how important it is to have a solid strategy in place (Connor, 2013). The author explains that creating a vision is the most important step in the strategic change process (Connor, 2013). A vision is developed by the leadership team and must be accessible and believable to all members of the organization (Connor, 2013). A vision is unable to survive buried in a report, left in the board room, or even displayed on a plaque in a lobby (Connor, 2013). In order for a vision to come alive, it needs to be recognized and accepted by all stakeholders (Connor, 2013).
