The company background

The founder of PRADA is Mario Prada, he opened the first luxury store in the Galleria Vittorio Emannelell in Maria, Italy at 1913. In 1919, PRADA became an official supplier to the Italian Royal family. Over the years, the Prada name gained increasing renown and prestige. Today, Maria Prada’s granddaughter Miuccia Prada is the owner of PRADA group and also head of designer and her husband Patrizio Bertelli is the CEO of PRADA group.

The PRADA Group is one of the world’s leaders in the design, production and distribution of luxury handbags, leather goods, footwear, ready-to-wear apparel, accessories, eyewear and fragrances. The Group owns PRADA brands and also some of the most prestigious international brands such as Miu Miu, Car Shoe and Church’s.

The Group operates in 70 countries through 388 (as of 31 January 2012) directly operated stores, 30 franchise stores and a network of selected high-end multi-brand stores and luxury department stores.

The Prada group mission is target an international customer base that is modern, sophisticated, aware of stylistic innovations and expects craftsmanship of the highest quality. By combining attention to detail and quality with a cutting-edge production and a unique and strong identity style, it aims to make each Prada designs unique.

Prada had a vision to open 10 to 12 stores a year in China to have a low penetration compared with the competitor. Prada also plan to create a new market in Asia because Prada find out by comparison that Europe the world of fashion is too conservative, very eighties and the Chinese women's body shapes inspiring.
