The Pixar Story

The Pixar Story is a documentary about an American computer animation film studio called Pixar best known for its CGI animated feature films. The Pixar Story is a good and very informative piece of documentary; it explained how much Pixar made a huge impact on the world of animation. Pixar in my opinion was a visionary and an animation film studio ahead of its time; it pushed the boundaries of animation and technology all together.

The Pixar Story also covered the struggles of the studio Pixar; Pixar struggled against the prejudices and outdated ideas against computer animation for example, the notion of computers replacing animators and other types of professionals in the future, in my opinion is absurd maybe computers are smarter than people but then again computers don’t have imagination and heart by which is a qualification needed from animators and other types of professionals. The Pixar Story presented a balanced perspective in the world of animation and industry.

The Pixar Story is good but it didn’t really inspire me to be an animator maybe because it is hard for me to be inspired by just a documentary alone or anything else or maybe I haven’t decided yet on what to do in the future, but it did piqued my interest even for just a little bit maybe because of the innovation computer animation can still do or new ways animation can change in the future; the possibilities are endless. There are some topics that they didn’t really tackle, like how much production costs or how long production is? They didn’t really go into the details about those questions. The documentary would be very helpful if they explained things a little bit further; if they did The Pixar Story would be a little bit better.
