I have learned so much in this class that I am left still so amazed how networking plays like a bow to a fiddle in the I.T field. They work hand in hand together, and you certainly cannot have one without the other. I am not going to lie, it is a lot of information, but in the long run it’s what I need to know in order to succeed in this career field. I have learned everything from network topologies to the OSI model , even different kinds of protocols and how they play a role in networking as well. Better yet I love the fact that I can now brag about being able to convert binary to decimal, and decimal to binary. Here’s a taste of what I have learned in my networking IT class.

In unit 1 we learned about what nodes actually were, and how they could be connected to a client/server or peer-to-peer. A client server is much more reliable and in my opinion a business’s best way to go. It stores information, and has a built in security function to help keep the bad guys out. If one node goes out then it doesn’t affect the rest of the node’s, but if the server goes out then all the nodes are down until the server is able to be back up and running. On a peer –to-peer network each node is connected to one another. All of the information is shared, and needless to say if one node goes down, they all go down.

I definitely would have to say that one of the most important topics on networking that I have learned so far is the OSI model, which was covered in unit 2. The OSI...
