1. How is the concept of homeostasis related to aging and disease? Provide examples to support your thinking. Homeostasis causes the body to remain balanced and aging is not a factor, for example the flu causes illness or imbalance. The body works back to homeostasis. Or
homeostatic imbalance causes the body processes to slow down or weaken causing disease or even death. For example: A person may be diagnosed with cancer causing the body to weaken because cells are being destroyed. The body will never return to homeostasis.
2. When we are dehydrated, we are thirsty and drink water. Is this part of negative or positive feedback control systems? Explain your reasoning. When we are dehydrated, we become thirsty and drink water. This is part of the negative feedback control system.
3. Why would you have a hard time understanding physiology if you did not also understand anatomy? You would have a hard time understanding physiology without understanding anatomy because physiology is the study of how organisms are built and anatomy is what they are used for so they both relate to one another.
