Introduction:

Human beings are social creatures. Communication and interaction are important part of Human society. With the passage of time and development in science and technology, the way human beings communicate, interact and socialize has been continuously changing. Especially since introduction of Internet technology in early 90s, the communication is far easier than it has ever been. Technology enables us to be in touch with friends and family across the globe instantaneously.

Media for social interaction in recent times includes web-based and mobile network technologies. The technology turns communication into interactive dialogue between communities and individuals. There are three main platforms for social media.

1) Online communities & forums.

A place where consumers exchange their opinion, views, reviews of products and services offered by different companies. The companies sponsor these online communities at times, so that their consumers can interact with each other as well as the company via instant messaging, chat etc

2) Bloggers (Individuals & networks).

Regularly updated journals or diaries, it has become an important outlet for word of mouth. Blogs unit people of common interest. Blogs have been an important source of finding reviews about products and services of different companies.
