Week One Assignment
There has been many times in the Air Force that critical or creative thinking could have improved a situation. No one instance comes directly to mind but as a whole I think that participation in war exercises is one of the best examples. Having had the pleasure of both participating in them and to evaluate them as an inspector. On many occasions the outcome could have been improved if participants used creative thinking to enhance their situation. One example of this, during a generation inspection which all the aircraft have to be in perfect flying condition and completely loaded with munitions as they were going to go to war, as an evaluator I found problems with the first aircraft I inspected. Instead of sending a technician to go and look to see if this problem is on other aircraft, they just accepted the write-up. I had found the same problem on the next four aircraft. If they had sent that technician they would have one write-up instead of five. Critical thinking would have definitely helped them in that particular situation.
Free will is the ability to make choices without certain constraints. It aids us forming thoughts by allowing us to evaluate our environment without the confines of influence from other people or objects. It grants us the ability to make our own decisions in life and not let the outside world influence us. Truth, one of the more difficult items to define, but generally known as a fact to an original idea or standard. To know the truth people must first know what they are seeking the truth of. Truth helps us form thoughts by seeking that which we believe is true or that which is known to be true. Knowledge is a familiarity with someone or something. In order to form an idea about anything you must first know about it. It does not require a Master’s Degree to form a thought about something, but you must at least have some...
