Functions of Management

Most companies that want to have success and want to run smoothly should implement their own management concepts. There are basically four concepts that most companies use, these functions provide a useful way of classifying information about management.

The first function is planning. In my opinion is the foundation of management. This is the area in where management should be built around. This function involves setting objectives and determining a course of action for achieving these objectives. It requires that managers be aware of current situations and be able to anticipate the future, determining objectives, and deciding in what activities the company should engage. Planning is an unending course of action. There are situations that sometimes the companies have to face and sometimes they are incontrollable, there are external factors that affect a company and sometimes they might have to alter its course of action in accomplishing certain goals. This is known as strategic planning. In strategic planning, management analyzes inside and outside factors that may affect the company and so objectives and goals. In my form of organization planning is the most important aspect because it is very important to me in order to achieve my goals as a salesman. I have to plan each time I visit any client because I have to let the client know that I know w what I am talking about and that he sees that I am very prepared to see him. I have to give him all the information and in order for me to do this I have to plan and be reared.

The second function is organizing. This is getting prepared and getting organized. This function involves developing and organizational structure and allocating human resources to ensure the accomplishment of objectives.
