HR in the Workplace

September 20, 2013, the date of the event of the Junior People Management Association of the Philippines, the organization of the Human Resource Management Students of San Beda College Alabang. The day was Friday when they held this event at Saint Maur building with the cooperation of Jobstreet Philippines. The event was named “Human Resource in the Workplace”.

The event was made as a three day event, said the president of JPMAP of San Beda but instead it only became a one day event due to weather problems in the past few days. The event was attended by different students of different courses such as the Financial Management, Marketing Management, Legal Management and Human Resource Management Students. The event also has some few visitors coming from San Beda College Mendiola which are also Human Resource Management Students.

The seminar started with the opening remarks of the president of JPMAP. She welcomed everybody and thank them for attending their event after that they now introduced to us the speaker that will continue the rest of the seminar. The speaker came from Jobstreet Philippines. She has a lot of achievements in terms of Human Resource Management. She started her talk by telling us what it is all about. It is about Human Resource in the Workplace. How Human Resource applied in the workplace, its importance and why is it essential in every company. Most of the topics covered by her in her talk were actually topics that we have already learned from Ms. Zarate, our professor on Human Resource Management. But one topic really got my attention and has stayed on my mind for the rest of the seminar. It is the three qualities that an employer looks for an employee, namely the initiative, communication skills and the critical thinking skills of an applicant for work.
