INTRODUTION

We have being assigned on a mission to investigate a bacterium invasion on the lower lobe of the right lung of a female human. In order to arrive to the area that has being attacked, we must know how our circulatory system, immune system and respiratory system function and how their structures are.

We will be having access to our blood stream by being injected through the femoral vein. “The femoral vein is located in the upper thigh and pelvic region of the body” (Healthline.com). “This vein is a continuation of the popliteal vein; it accompanies the femoral artery on the upper part and continues above the inguinal ligament as the external iliac vein” (Merriam-webster.com). Once we are being injected into the femoral vein we will be traveling through by the circulatory system. While we travel toward our invaded area, we will be narrating what surround us, what might accelerate, or interrupt our travel, and what ways we should travel in order to reach out the affected area.

The immune system of our body plays an important role in attacking and destroying bacteria. We will find out how it will help us in our mission, “battle of the lung”. After traveling to the lower lobe of the right lung and detecting what antigen has invaded it, we will have to get out crossing the alveolar membrane, escaping through the nose.

It will be a fantastic journey full of surprises and amazing discoveries of our body structures and functions.

Welcome aboard!

“The battle of the lung”

An alert just came announcing a bacteria has invaded the lower lobe of the right lung of our patient. To start our mission we have being injected into the blood stream in a mini sub-marine who will help us traveling through the femoral vein. The femoral vein runs alongside the femoral artery, it is located in the upper thigh and pelvic region of the...
