In This week’s study of the Major and Minor Prophets of the Bible. We see that they went through various tribulations and trials. There were a few who did not want to see the repentance of the people. There were a few prophets who were not sure because of their own short falls that people would not listen to them. Then there a few that came from Kings and others who were shepherds. It shows that the Lord can use whomever he chooses and who is willing to go. I will also show what they were preaching against and what the people had to do to change their ways.

In the following books taken from the King James Version we see who the prophet was and what he was warning the people to turn from and repent. In the Lecture Dr. Hindson talked about how it seemed that Israel and other nations turned away from the Lord and were judged for not turning back to the Lord. In the book of Obadiah we see that there pride is there sin and are warned to turn back to the Lord. In Joel 1: 4-20 Joel tells the people of the various events that are happening and what to do. The people only have to “call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered (KJV Joel 2:32.)”

In the book of Jonah we see that the prophet heard the Word of the Lord. But did not want to see the people converted so he left. In chapter 3 we see the people repent and turn from their wicked ways. In the book of Amos we read about the prophet preaching for the people. The lord tells them they have “Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked (Amos 2:4 KJV).” In Amos chapter 4 we see that he warns the people “O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel (Amos 4:12 KJV).”
