Tony Luke’s Ball Point Pen

The ballpoint pen is a widely used writing device. It is primarily composed of plastic and rubber. It uses spring loaded ink cartridge help inside the main body. Usage of the ballpoint pen is initiated by depressing the initiator and the ink cartridge slides out of the front cap. It is approximately 6 inches long and 5/8 of an inch wide. It contains one black ink cartridge and is not replaceable. This ballpoint pen originated from Tony Luke’s Restaurant in Philadelphia, PA.

Components

1. Front End Assemblies

* Rubber Grip’s function is to provide comfort to the user while they are engaging the ballpoint pen. It is primarily composed of rubber, with tiny groves cut along the length to provide a sturdy grip. It is held by groves cut into the main body.

* The front cap stores the end of the ink cartridge and keeps it from drying out. It also houses the spring, which allows the initiator to push the ink cartridge out of the front cap.

* Spring, holds the ink cartridge in place for the user to operate the ballpoint pen.

2. Mid Body Assembly

* Main body is the house of the spring, ink cartridge, and holds the rubber grip in place. It contains the restaurant information for Tony Luke’s at 39 E Oregon Ave Philadelphia, PA. It is made of 100% plastic and is 3.5 inches long.

* Ink cartridge is housed in the main body of the ballpoint pen. It is composed of a rubber tube that contains black ink within.

3. Rear-End Assembly

* Plastic clip is located on the end of the main body and is used to secure the pen to the users pocket or any other apparatus. The clip is removable. The clip is approximately 1.5 inches long and ¼ inch wide.
