PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Well, spring is here, oh, wait a minute is it summer or maybe, fall, the way the weather has been changing lately you never really know. Had quite a holiday season up to St. Patty’s Day.

Well, my wife Terri and I celebrated 50 years of marriage in February. Still don’t know how that happened, I feel only fifty years old. The time really flies by when you’re having fun! To tell the truth it wasn’t always fun but somehow we made it, more good times then bad. There’s an old saying if its broken fix it don’t just throw it away. Guess that’s what we seniors do.

We are trying to get some events planned for this year, a picnic was proposed, along with an Elvis impersonator, but again we have to guarantee a minimum of 100 people and that’s hard to do. A run up the stairs at the Empire State Building was shot down immediately. So what else can we come up with? Some of us took a dinner, dance cruise on the River Lady, a paddle boat ride out of Toms River. It was quite enjoyable.

We are open to all suggestions, so if you have any, send them in to me or Millie Del Bove. Some people expressed an interest in another dinner dance, sounds good to me, just have to come up with a new theme, maybe “the 40’s”.

In case some of you don’t know, our English teacher, Mrs. Popp is not a Weeble, she does fall down, cracked five ribs, but she’s back up and running again

The Association gave the auto mechanic shop $1,500.00 for some tools they needed. It’s nice to know that we can help our alma mater in some small way.
