How to best meet energy needs in the United States is a widely debated topic. Some citizens argue that alternative energy sources should be used, while others feel that new power sources should be explored. The dreaded discussion of whether or not to drill for oil in the coastal plain of Alaska is one that arises repeatedly whenever the nation faces energy challenges. However drilling in this region can be particularly harmful to certain animals. More than two hundred and fifty animal species call this region of Alaska home. There is a chance that my love for animals has caused me to believe that my choice is the best choice without regard for the opinions of others who may not be as passionate...
