Company Background

Maserati was founded by five brothers (Bindo, Alfieri, Mario, Ettore, and Ernesto) in 1 December 1914 in Bologna, Italy. Soon after, Maserati has played an essential role in the development of luxury sports car culture.

In 1910s, Mario created the Maserati Trident.

When the brothers still working for Isotta Franchini, Alfieri has designed and raced Diattos. Until 1926, Alfieri drove the Tipo 26 which is his first victory in the Targo Florio. During 1930s, Maserati manufactured some award-winning racers, such as the 1929 V4 with 16-cylinder engine, and the last car designed by Alfieri which is 1931 8C 2500.

The company was bought by Adolfo Orsi in 1937. Maserati factory created spark plugs, machine tools and electric vehicles during World War II. Soon, they returned producing A6 1500 race cars.

In the 1950s, Maserati chosen Formula One driver Fangio to pilot the 250F and he won the car debut at the Argentine Grand Pix. In 1957, Maserati took the World Title for the fifth time. They started producing Birdcage and prototypes and supplying Formula One engines.

Maserati relocated from Bologna to Modena in 1940. Their acquisition with Ferrari in 1997 quickly expanded Maserati’s development and the launches of new cars.

Maserati entered Malaysia under Naza Italia Sdn Bhd with RM20 million showroom located in Petaling Jaya on June, 2009.

Their mission statement is “Where everyone is committed to exceeding customer expectations”. They aim to provide the excellent service to their customers during sale and repair of their motor vehicles.
