Part I:

1. What vital signs or symptoms does Annie exhibit?

-Blurred vision and eye strain

-Gasping for air

-Hands ache and feel weak

-Weakness and constant fatigue

2. Can you see any common features in Annie’s signs and symptoms?

Yes, with blurred vision and eyestrain we must look at the optic nerve within the brain. The cause of the difficulty breathing and weakness most be problems with the synaptic centers. Some of us see that having eyestrain is just the beginning. Headaches, soreness and fatigue may also be faced if you don’t see well. Every time someone works out we have lactic acid buildup which will cause fatigue and muscle weakness.

3. Why is Annie having problems breathing?

Anne is having degeneration of the apneustic center.

4. What are the possible reasons for Annie’s condition?

Due to the vision problems resulting weakness, the possible condition might be multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis can affect any part of the brain and spinal cord.

1. What additional vital signs or symptoms does Annie exhibit?

- Strange sleeping patterns (long sleeps)

- Stressed out

- Eye strain and double vision

- Short breath more than usual

- Drooping eyelids

3. How could a decline in muscle function contribute to eye strain and blurred vision?

As muscle function deteriorates, it takes more effort to control the muscles responsible for focusing the eye. The eye gets tired quickly and blurred vision occurs when the muscles are too tired to maintain focus.
