Question #1 – Identify the common roles in a human resource project. Then, analyze these roles to typical human resource functions.

According to Josler and Burger (2005), project management is offend used as leverage to add value to an institution’s strategic initiative. Project management is an extremely useful tool with numerous applications for human resources management. Project management, according to Josler and Burger (2005), can be defined as the planning, organizing, scheduling, leading, communicating, and controlling of work activities to achieved a predefined outcome, and time and within budget.

According to Stewart and Brown (2008), the goal of any business or organization is to make money, not just make money but to have lasting effect in their respective industries. Benedict (2008), states that human resource projects consist of executive, managerial, and associate level roles. Of course, each level comes with its own responsibilities and requirements. However, to be successful, unlike Congress, they must work together. Common roles are identified and the project is staffed with human capital to fulfill its need/requirement. Human capital is ever so important to the business or organization’s sustainability and competitive advantage. Strategically, these roles are sponsor, project manager, and core team member and are often the difference between a project’s success or failure.

The common role of the sponsor, an individual or group, provides financial assistance for the project. Moreover, the sponsor has a major stake in the project success or failure, may pick the project manager and the core team, mentors the project manager, has an active role in chartering the project, and share their/its vision for the project....
