personally believe that there is a great, vital need to study the works and life of rizal. Rizal is our greatest national hero, others described him as the "first filipino" and the "the gretest filipino." Well, i strongly agree with the former. He is indeed. Rizal has done many great things in the philiipine history. If you would real and analyze and observe his life, you would be greatly inspired. I believe that DEPED has included it in the curriculum because knowing Rizal's life and works inspire Filipinos to become REAL filipinos, to be proud of their motherland and native-tongue, to prove to other countries that filipinos are great and capable of excellencing over other races. Personally, before i asked trhe same question. BUt when i have read and understand his life, things become so clear. and i got really inspired to the point that i followed him, and wanted to be like him. I wanted to be a great filipino also, that i may prove the world their fallacy about us - that we are nothing compared with hem and they are superior. No, Rizal has proved that they were wrong. We are great! We are intelligent, skillful, - inded we can do and we can be what we wanted to be!
I myself has been inspired by his life, and i do believe that studying his life will also change those people who devotionally and dedicately put their hearts into studying his life..
I hope you do..
