Many businesses whether large or small have integrated their business and customer services around database application software. Database application software is usually sold to small and medium businesses as proprietary software. For the larger businesses the database application software is the core. This is typically due to budget purposes.

Microsoft Outlook Servers are one of the military’s database application software. The Microsoft Outlook gives the user the ability to send and receive their data through email form. It is able to save up to four gigabytes of information, and also has a built-in scheduling system. This may not sound like a big deal, but being able to track meetings and appointment vital to keeping track of what needs to been done. They could reschedule when needed, or set-up meetings by using any device with internet access. This allows a user to track data from their workstation and mobile phones. At a glance of a cell phone users are able to be reminded of tasks. Since the military is such a fast pace line of work this software is flexible without being hard to operate.

Microsoft Access database application software is a database that interacts with Microsoft. This combines Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface software-developmental tools. Simply put it accesses a wide range of data sources. This software can also import and export data information from Excel, SharePoint list, text, XML, Outlook, HTML, dBase, Paradox, and Lotus 1-2-3. It can also interface with other open database connectively (ODBC) Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL. With all the technology today it’s very likely that different databases information areas are going to be used on a regular bases. When this occurs a database application that has the ability to connect to the software and interface with other ODBC is needed.
