Outline Thesis: It was right of the United States to draft soldiers into the Vietnam War because we needed to look bigger, and the way we drafted was completely fair to the men drafted for war, the United States needed to look more powerful. I. The Vietnam War draft included millions of Americans, you weren't chosen by skill, you were chosen if you could shoot a gun. A. There was about 2.2 million people in the United States that were drafted
into the Vietnam War. B. There was not a choice, if you dodged the draft you were considered to be against the United States. C. Despite the consequences the resistance against the draft reached a historic peak. II. Even though the resistance was very high, the draft was completely fair to the United States Citizens. A. Young men use to get together in dorms and homes with their friends and family to listen to the live draft to see if there date was chosen. B. The draft did not go by who looks more fit, it was a random drawing of birth dates and if your number was chosen you were going to war. III. The United States were not looking so good at the beginning of the war so the United States needed higher number for intimidation, to look powerful. A. The United States were not looking for skills of men, they drafted them because the US then looked more powerful.
