The “Self-motivation assessment tool” for the most part accurately reflects my internal self-motivation. My score was a 43, saying “You’re doing fairly well with your level of self-motivation; however, it appears you could be achieving greater results.” The result came a little as a surprise revealing that I had some work to within. Some of the items within the “Self-Motivation Assessment Tool” to me are not relevant ways to measure motivation. I am not saying that they are not relevant at all just not relevant to me and the way I measure my motivation. I feel that reflection itself could and would be a great way to measure internal self-motivation. However those around us would be unable to see our motivation by reflection.

As a Human relations specialist I feel this questioner would be a great hiring tool. I’m sure it will have its downfalls, but I feel it will accurately reflect how others view their own motivation. Keeping in mind that many may misuse this tool for self gain, (getting hired, keeping from getting fired, etc.)

I would not only use this tool as a hiring tool but I would also utilize it in workshops and annual reviews with current employees. I will have hired qualified more than capable people to complete the job however we all have areas where we feel like the task at hand may be more challenging or difficult. When situations such as this arise I would create a reward or incentive program to complete the task. Cognitive Evaluation Theory would be a great tool to aid those struggling and who are more than able to complete the job. Instead of demanding a certain product or procedure, I may suggest a certain route, guiding an outcome.

A negative result from this tool would not be a setback or a contributor to not hiring an individual it would just be a guide to show management where an individual may excel and my not. It may also aid in what type of position that person should hold. I may be hesitant to place a low scoring...
