College Friendships vs. High School Friendships
Abstract
This paper explains how the relationships that are formed in college are stronger and will last longer than those formed in high school. This paper discusses Erik Erikson’s psychological stages and how they come into place when forming relationships. It highlights the fact that college bonds are formed because of similar interests and hobbies, while high school friendships are formed because of convenience. It gives the pros and cons of high school and college relationships. College friendships are more true and last longer than those in high school because college students are more mature and care about getting to know the actual person more than high school students.
My argument is that college friendships are better and last longer and are stronger than high school friendships. College students are more mature and less judgmental than high school students. High school students are immature and only care about popularity. Erik Erikson’s developmental stages back this argument up.
For this paper, I used a book, an empirical source, a scholarly journal, and databases. I made sure that all of my sources were credible. I used the Purdue libraries databases the most for this assignment.
